The holiday and congress resort has international importance and lies in midst of the Bernese Oberland. At an altitude of 567 m, Interlaken is surrounded by the world-famous backdrop of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau, the majestic 3,000 and 4,000 metre peaks. With a valid ski, hiking or tobogganing pass and a fully filled-out guest card the ski buses commuting between the valley station and ski areas can be used for free. Therefore Interlaken is the ideal starting point for the "Jungfrau Top Ski Region"! But also away from the pistes you are sure not to be bored: there are many bars, discos and restaurants in close proximity, as well as many sports and culture facilities. No matter if it is tobogganing on the longest run in Europe, sky diving in front of an impressive mountain massif or just relaxed lounging on the "Top of Europe", the highest located railway station in Europe. Interlaken is perfectly connected to the ski area due to the many rail lines. Additionally there is also a free ski bus that takes the guests from the holiday region Interlaken to Grindelwald. To make use of the free bus service you only have to be in possession of a valid ski, hiking or tobogganing pass of the Jungfrau region, which needs to presented together with a fully filled-out guest card. Both ski areas have something to offer for everyone. First is ideal for beginners with its large selection of easy pistes. But also snowboarders values this area. The snow park "White Elements" with slides, tables and jumps, superpipe and boardecross let a boarder's heart beat faster. The piste "First-Egg-Bort-Grindelwald" with a length of 6 km and an altitude difference of 1,118 m is challenging enough for experts and is known to one of the most difficult descents in the region. If you are looking to go even higher up, we recommend to book the upgrade to the lift pass "Jungfrau" which offers 214 km of piste up to 2,971 m altitude. At the Schlitthorn" there are pistes of varying difficulties, more deep powder snow options, the "Murren-Schlitthorn-Funpark" and much more to be found.
